Digital Australia 2022 (DA22) – Connected by Games – change of launch date

IGEA are preparing to launch the next iteration of our Digital Australia Report, a research series spanning 16 years that provides empirical data on who plays video games, how they play, why they play, and attitudes towards video games in Australia.

Digital Australia 2022 (DA22) Connected by Games will observe how video games served as a vital source of connection during the pandemic and kept people in contact with their friends, family, employment and education.

DA22 will now launch mid-October (note this has been updated from our original post) but we thought we’d give you a little sneak peek of the data and the cover.  DA22 will reveal that three quarters of Australian parents and children played games together during COVID-19, and a quarter of Australian adults said they or members of their household played video games to experience “virtual travel or spaces” during the pandemic.

We can’t wait to share the rest of the findings with you, so stay tuned for more information.
