Top 10 games charts return to www.igea.net
IGEA is pleased to announce that the weekly Top 10 games charts will be published again on the homepage of our website, commencing Friday 22 May. They will look slightly different to the previous versions but will certainly show the best selling games in Australia and New Zealand for the previous week.
IGEA’s members have consolidated suppliers and going forward the charts will be a combination of the best selling games sold at traditional retail stores and digital store fronts. Read the FAQ below for full details;
IGEA Games Charts FAQ
How is the data sourced?
The IGEA top 10 games charts are provided by Game Sales Data (GSD). GSD data is licensed from the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE)
What is the unit of measurement?
The charts are based on weekly total unit sales. Where a title is sold across multiple platforms, individual sales of each platform are combined to arrive at the chart position.
How is the data collated?
Data is collected from multiple sources.
- Network includes full game downloads through the Australian and New Zealand Playstation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo eShop and Steam digital stores. Network software sales are provided to GSD from a panel which includes Activision Blizzard, Bandai Namco, Big Ben Interactive, Codemasters, Capcom, EA, Focus Home Interactive, Koch Media. Microsoft, Milestone, Paradox Interactive, SEGA. Sony Interactive Entertainment, Square Enix. Take Two Interactive, Ubisoft and Warner Bros. Interactive.
- Retail includes a combination of actual and extrapolated sales data to represent 100% Australian physical video games market performance.
It is not intended to cover total market/total consumer spend of full game downloads.
When will all of the game publishers be represented?
It is up to individual companies if they want to provide data to 3rd party aggregators. Discussions are continually taking place with all major parties as to the provision of data and we expect this to continue.
Timing
In most cases the charts will be provided on Friday and consist of games sales from the previous week (Monday – Sunday).
