Second government committee report recommends reinstatement of AIGF
Early this year, the Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Training launched an Inquiry into Innovation and Creativity: A Workforce for the New Economy. IGEA took the opportunity to make a written submission to the inquiry and later appeared as witness in front of the committee.
Today, we were heartened to hear Terri Butler MP, Deputy Chair of the Inquiry, present the Committee’s findings in Parliament, highlighting Recommendation 37:
The Committee recommends that the Australian Government introduce a funding scheme based on the former Australian Interactive Games Fund.

It’s important to note that this another cross-party inquiry that supports, at a minimum, the reinstatement of the AIGF.
IGEA will continue to work with all sides of the Australian Government, across multiple departments and ministries, to ensure that the video games and interactive entertainment sector receives the level of support it deserves.
