Big Ant Studios Join The Interactive Games and Entertainment Association
SYDNEY, Australia: December 21 2015 – The Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (IGEA) has today announced that Big Ant Studios has joined the association as its latest member.
Big Ant Studios joins Well Placed Cactus, Google and VR Distribution who joined the association in 2015 reflecting the changing nature of the industry and the areas of common interest across all sections of the ecosystem.
Big Ant Studios is one of Australia’s oldest video games development companies and boasts an impressive record of popular releases across a wide range of genres. Founded in 2001, Big Ant Studios develop premium character action and racing content for all of the major platforms. They are also behind games such as Don Bradman Cricket ’ and the Rugby League Live series.
According to Ron Curry, CEO of IGEA, the association and its members welcome the opportunity to reflect the needs and interests of the broader video games industry.
“Our industry has seen a huge amount of change in the last decade and as the peak body for our sector our focus must be on reflecting the needs and views of our membership. We believe we are best placed to do this by having members of all sizes and capabilities – from independent developers through to the platform holders.”
“We’re delighted to welcome Big Ant Studios. They are an exciting company with a long history of innovation that continues to produce exceptionally high quality games, many of which have bespoke Australian themes. They will add a strong voice to our existing membership of the leading publishers, marketers, distributors and now developers of games,” says Curry.
Big Ant Studio’s CEO, Ross Symons, says joining IGEA provides the company with a valuable opportunity to participate more fully in key industry wide discussions.
“I have long admired the IGEA and the positive voice that they give our industry” says Ross Symons, CEO of Big Ant Studios. “We are honoured to be able join the IGEA and certainly look forward to helping continue their excellent work. I would take this opportunity to encourage other developers to show support for this great organisation and also become a part of the IGEA.”
