Gaming Toys

It wasn’t that long ago that video games were created using other people’s licenses or intellectual property…..think Monopoly, Spongebob Squarepants, Harry Potter’ Lego etc.   Of course, that still successfully happens and will continue to do so.  However, with games being so popular we are seeing traditional games franchises extend their merchandising programs to show up in all areas of retail –  think Spyro, Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, and Halo to name a few.  Jason Hill over at Screenplay has written about the huge demand for gaming toys  and having experienced it first hand scouring stores for Skylanders Figures post Christmas, it comes as no surprise.
